Last updated: August 26, 2026

Friends of Carolyn Ubriaco (“the Committee,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Committee collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects information obtained through VoteCarolynU.org, campaign forms, campaign communications, and related campaign activities.

Telephone or mobile number

Information submitted through contact, volunteer, event-registration, yard-sign, or similar campaign forms

Your campaign interests and volunteer preferences

Messages, questions, or other information you submit

Records showing when, where, and how you provided or withdrew consent to receive communications

Contribution-related information, including contribution amount, transaction date, employer, occupation, and other information required for campaign-finance reporting

Any other information you choose to provide to the Committee

When you use our website, the Committee and its service providers may automatically collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring website, pages viewed, and the date and time of your visit. Cookies or similar technologies may be used to operate, secure, and understand use of the website.

How We Use Information

We may use collected information to:

Respond to questions, messages, and requests

Coordinate volunteers, events, yard signs, voter outreach, and other campaign activities

Provide campaign news, election information, event information, volunteer opportunities, surveys, fundraising appeals, and other requested communications

Send communications to which you have separately consented

Process contributions and maintain required campaign-finance records

Comply with legal, reporting, tax, and recordkeeping obligations

Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website

Detect or prevent fraud, misuse, security incidents, or unlawful activity

Protect the rights, safety, and integrity of the Committee, its supporters, and others

Carry out another purpose disclosed when information is collected or to which you subsequently consent

Text Messages and SMS Consent

If you provide your mobile number and separately and affirmatively consent to receive text messages, Friends of Carolyn Ubriaco may send you recurring SMS or MMS messages using automated or other technology.

Messages may include campaign updates, event information, volunteer opportunities, election reminders, surveys, voter-engagement communications, and requests for donations.

Message frequency may vary. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of donating, volunteering, attending an event, making a purchase, or otherwise supporting the Committee.

Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. You may also withdraw consent by emailing Carolyn@VoteCarolynU.org or through another reasonable method that clearly communicates your desire to stop receiving messages. We will honor valid revocation requests as required by applicable law. You may receive one non-promotional message confirming your opt-out.

Opting out of text messages does not automatically unsubscribe you from email, postal mail, telephone calls, or other campaign communications.

Mobile Information and Consent Records

The Committee does not sell, rent, transfer, or provide mobile telephone numbers or SMS consent information to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties unless required by law.

The preceding restrictions control over any more general data-sharing language in this Privacy Policy.

Communications service providers may process mobile information solely on the Committee’s behalf to deliver requested messages, maintain consent and opt-out records, provide support, and comply with applicable law. They are not authorized to use that information for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

How We Share Other Information

The Committee does not sell or rent personal information.

We may disclose other personal information:

To service providers that help operate and secure the website, process contributions, maintain campaign records, deliver communications, provide technical support, or perform other services for the Committee

When required by campaign-finance, election, tax, court, regulatory, or other legal obligations

When reasonably necessary to protect legal rights, safety, property, or the integrity of the Committee’s operations

With your direction or consent

Service providers may use information only to perform services for the Committee and not for their own marketing purposes.

Certain contributor information may be included in publicly available campaign-finance reports when disclosure is required by law.

Donations and Third-Party Services

Donations and certain event registrations may be processed through third-party providers such as Anedot. Payment information submitted directly to a payment processor is governed by that provider’s privacy policy and terms.

The Committee may receive contribution and transaction information needed to process contributions, respond to donors, maintain records, and comply with campaign-finance requirements. The Committee does not necessarily receive or store complete payment-card or bank-account numbers entered through a third-party processor.

Our website may also link to social-media platforms, maps, or other third-party services. Those organizations maintain their own privacy and security practices, and we encourage visitors to review their policies.

Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, organizational, and technical safeguards intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, or misuse.

No website, electronic transmission, wireless network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure. We therefore cannot guarantee the absolute security of information transmitted to or maintained by the Committee or its service providers.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy and to satisfy campaign-finance, tax, legal, security, and recordkeeping obligations.

We may retain records documenting consent and a minimal suppression record after an opt-out so that we can demonstrate consent history and avoid sending communications to someone who has withdrawn consent.

Your Choices and Requests

You may:

Stop text messages by replying STOP

Request texting assistance by replying HELP

Unsubscribe from campaign emails using an unsubscribe link, when provided

Contact us to correct or update information you provided

Request access to or deletion of information you provided

We will consider privacy requests in accordance with applicable law. We may retain information when necessary for campaign-finance reporting, legal compliance, transaction records, security, fraud prevention, consent documentation, or suppression-list purposes.

Children’s Privacy

The website is not directed to children under 13, and the Committee does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child has submitted personal information may contact us to request its removal.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in campaign practices, technology, legal requirements, or messaging standards. The revised Policy will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
